Description
The Hi All Purpose Boot Small is a post-operative footwear design that prioritizes protection and stability during recovery. The small size corresponds to men’s US 5–6.5 and women’s US 6–7.5. It features a closed-toe design to keep dressings and toes warm and dry, and a square toe bumper to shield the toes during movement.
The boot accommodates bulky dressings and most fiberglass casts, offering unrestricted forefoot access with a removable forefoot closure. The ankle strap seats the foot securely in the shoe to reduce heel slippage and friction. A rocker sole facilitates smooth transitions with each step, while a metatarsal shank provides rigidity and support under the forefoot. The zoned outsole places an aggressive tread under the mid-foot where traction is most needed.
The removable insole, with padding twice the standard, can be totally removed to accept the Darcos Peg Assist customizable off-loading insole, and optional peg-assist insoles are available (models 1471a–1471e). HCPCS code L3260 applies, aiding documentation and billing for post-operative care.
